Rector's Address
Constanta Maritime University is probably the first University in Romania which was authorized and audited at a European and worldwide level. .
The authorization and the audit of the University took place not necessarily by means of certification organisms but by means of the labour market and by means of the huge demand of graduates of this University that are needed on the international market. The intentions of Constanta Maritime University are to develop these directions which allow a global and total acknowledgement of its efforts in preparing future marine officers.
We have developed so far, besides the standard directions which form the basis of the maritime education, i.e. Electromechanics, Electrotechnics and Navigation, other directions as well, which shall allow the integration of the maritime education and of all the studies related to this activity into ports and interior waters.
We refer to Environment Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunication and Economic Engineering in the Field of Transports.
The efforts of the Maritime University, obvious due to the modernization of the technical and material resources due to the great influence which the University has succeeded to have over the maritime field and over the field of interior waters navigation, prove that these efforts had to be done and that the immediate future is a future in which we fully trust.
There is no field related to the maritime and fluvial navigation in which the Maritime University does not have a say about the matters, in which the Maritime University does not have a position which the person who is in charge with this field needs to take into consideration.
We further hope that our efforts should turn into better and better results. Our results are materialized through the training of our students and graduates. I wish luck in their future choice to all those visiting this site and I wish luck, in their future training to all those who already are, under different forms, our students.
Rector,
Prof.Dr.Eng. Cornel PANAIT
