Navigation and Maritime and River Transport Faculty provides bachelor and master degree university study programmes, orientated towards maritime transport and ensuring: training of deck officers for a career connected with navigation and ships’ exploitation; training specialists in shipping, water transport management and logistics.
Navigation and Maritime and River Transport Faculty’s Mission is to ensure an educational and scientific environment which stimulates intellectual development and gaining certain professional competencies at international standards.
Education process’ quality is ensured by following the procedures established by ISO 9001:2000 Standard, the conformity of Quality Management being certified by Bureau Veritas since 1993 and by requirements enforced by STCW ’95 Convention and this has been noticed by European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) during the inspection in 2006.
Faculty’s graduates receive an engineer diploma and they have the possibility to get an Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch licence. By the end of study years they will have more life experience, trust in their own forces and in the future. The obtained qualification certainly offers them, right after graduation, professional opportunities and special material satisfactions and these are at a higher level than any other higher-education graduate in Romania.
