Scholarships awarded by the University
1) Every year, besides the number of future students approved by M.Ed.C.I for the tuition free studies, Constanta Maritime University sponsors from its own incomes, a number of candidates, proportional with the number of specializations, who are the first ones accepted with tuition after the entrance exam.
For the 2007-2008 session CMU sponsored a number of 38 students and in the 2008-2009 session, 37 students. The sponsorships will be redistributed every year to those students with the highest average results.
2) Through the University Senate decision the universitys employees may benefit, upon request, of exemption from tuition payment.

NYK Scholarships
Constanta Maritime University signed in 2006 a Collaboration Protocol with the Japanese Crewing Agency NYK SHIPMANAGEMENT PTE LTD, in order to provide onboard practical training for students. The Japanese Company offers study scholarships for all maritime specializations, starting with the Ist year of studies.
Students interested in getting such a scholarship have to pass a written test in English, for 2 hours, evaluating their general knowledge in: Mathematics, Physics, Logic, English. The test is followed by an interview in English with a representative of NYK Shipmanagement Company.
Students who are admitted must sign an individual contract with this company stipulating the rights and obligations of the NYK scholar.
Among provided facilities for the whole studies period, we should mention:
Monthly Scholarship = 100 Euro (except for holydays);
ENTRY BONUS = 1200 USD (strictly for buying a laptop it is awarded before the first embarkation);
CADET Wage = 550 Euro per month (during voyage)
In 2008-2009 session, there was a number of 49 students beneficiating from this scholarships from the Navigation, Electro-Mechanics and Electrical Systems specializations.
