The Library of Constanta Maritime University was set up in 1990, at the same time with the Merchant Marine Institute, which meant the takeover of the book stock of the Party County School.
In 200 the Merchant Marine Institute of Constanta changed its name to Constanta Maritime University.
The library answers the needs of the academic community, mainly the students, and it hosts a lot of specialized collections that match the profile of the faculties, the total amount being about 35,000 registered units, as well as books and magazines dealing with non-maritime topics. The Protocol signed in 2007 with Constanta County Library allows our students to access a supplementary stock of 71,000 technical publications.
The task of Constanta Maritime University Library is to provide the best information system and sources that will help them reach a high level of technical and economic skills as required by their future jobs.
Continuous efforts are made to enlarge the collections of the library, either by books published by the members of our teaching staff or acquisitions from the home or foreign market.
